In the south of Siena as part of the municipal administrations of San Quirico d’Orcia, Castglion d’Orcia and Pienza, situated in midst the Natural and Artistical Parc of the Orcia Valley, we can find the widespread agricultural farm enterprises of the Simonelli-Santi family and also the farmhouse-holiday accomodations of “Belladonna”. For more than 10 generations now the Simonelli-Santi family have been farmers and in the course of time, out of the natural passion for the land, a deep interest in botanical science, chemistry, pharmacology and livestock has been growing. Modern concepts lead also to further developments, offering the various farmhouses as country tourist accomodations that together with the wide scale of local traditional products became a new, important and highly valued factor for the agrotouristical part of the enterprise. At the same time a range of new activities is created that is unique for this region. Two of Belladonna’s farmhouses are situated hills that offer a beautiful and panoramic view of nearby Montalcino and the Orcia Valley. Groups of up to 9 persons or also small families can be easily accomodated. The farmhouses are the result of an only lately and carefull restructening of the old houses and are subject to design and style of the typical old Tuscan farmhouse. In particular, the fascination of the classic farmhouse style that meets modern comfort can be admired hereby. The rooms invite to enjoy the tranquillity of rural country life. The furnishing is country-style like and both houses have a kitchen. The farmhouse guests may make use of the swimming-pool of the nearby Hotel Palazzuolo at a special rate and are also welcome at the hotel’s restaurant. It is possible to participate in the activities that are part of the farm life like joining the honey crop in June and July, the picking of thegrapes in September and of the olives in November to December. At the VILLA MALINTOPPO (direction Fornaci) the farm-made products can be acquired, such as the Orcia Wine, the Grappa of “Nonno Ernesto”, the honey, and the Extra Vergin Organic Olive Oil, produced in the own oil mill strictly following traditional methods. Unspoiled nature invites to complete relaxation during the holidays without hustle and haste in a sane rural environment, far away from the noise and stress of the big cities.........
